Is Hollywood Clueless? Sorry, that’s just too easy …

With Popcorn, DVD’s and TiVo, Moviegoers Are Staying Home - New York Times

Couple of points. One, over the weekend when I saw the latest Star Wars, I had to sit through twelve commercials. And no, I’m not counting the trailers, slides, or concession stand pushes. I’m talking, after the lights dim and before the movie starts, 12 ads that I’d normally have to sit through while watching TV. I did pay to see this movie, right? Maybe, just maybe, the magic of the cinema isn’t as bright as it used to be.

Second, check out the Sony chairwoman’s point, conceding that they can’t keep making excuses, “people just want good movies.” Their solution? Bewitched, the movie. Sigh. Sure, they’re not “guilty of doing the ordinary.”
