Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner? Since we lost Ray Wershing, all of our kickers have had four letters in their first name (Mike, Jose, Todd, etc.), and they’ve all sucked. All we really needed was a kicker with three letters (Joe, as in Nedney) :)

Computer squishes into wall-socket


An Israeli firm has found a way to make computers totally disappear from offices. The company’s “Jack-PC” squishes inside a standard in-the-wall network connector box and contains a Windows CE based thin-client computer. It gets its power, and connects to the outside world, over Ethernet inside the wall.

Top 10 dot-com flops

Funny, Pets.com was building their new headquarters on the same block South of Market where I was working at the time. It was a beautiful structure of glass and steel, and about a month after it was finally finished, they went under. I wonder what ever happened to that building?

Ah, Good Times, good times …

The most astounding thing about the dot-com boom was the obscene amount of money that was spent. Zealous venture capitalists fell over themselves to invest millions in Internet start-ups;new college graduates became instant millionaires (albeit on paper), Now check out the biggest failures from the dot-com boom.
