Futurama Case Mods

Bender ModRather nice case mods of Leela and Bender. Also of Tux, the Linux penguin mascot recently abused by Exxon. And a modded car. Seem pretty easy to make, I'm going to have to get around to making an astromech case mod. I'll just gut my astromech and put a PC in it. Now wait a minute…

New Kind of Spam 'Un-Training’ Filters?

Zaphod2016 writes to tell us the Wall Street Journal is reporting that email in-boxes are under a new kind of spam attack. This new spam has confused many people due to its lack of advertising, viruses, or request for personal information. One popular theory is that these innocuous blocks of text, often drawn from popular literature, are being used to "un-train" spam filters to allow more malicious spam through in the future.

T-Top Enzo destroyed in high-speed crash

Yet another Enzo Bites the dust. Oh well, at least it was for a good cause

Destroyed EnzoRemember the T-Top Ferrari Enzo owned by Richard Losee we featured awhile back? In a recent issue of Road and Track we read a piece penned by Losee himself describing how he cracked 200 mph in his ultra-rare Enzo. That was probably one of the last high-speed runs the Enzo experienced, as we've learned that Losee crashed his Enzo yesterday during the Utah Fast Pass Road Rally near Milfor, Utah. The accident occurred while Losee was traveling about 100 mph, and while the Enzo is completely destroyed, Losee appears to have suffered only fractured bones.

Animators Not Thrilled With Mick Lasalle

Years ago, some friends and I were going to create "The Official Mick LaSalle Is An Idiot" website. Looks like nothing's changed. I wonder if the domain name is still available …

Screen Cap from Monster HouseIndustry professionals have apparently not been shy about letting Lasalle know they think he's an idiot, and that he should have better researched his topic before writing about it. Among the throng responding to the review was Pixar story artist Jeff Pidgeon, who sent a politely-worded response to the SF Chron on the subject. Lasalle, who apparently isn't in any hurry to mend fences with the animators of the world, reportedly responded thusly: "Thank you for a thoughtful message. I appreciate it. (Don't agree with it, any of it, but I appreciate being accurately quoted and not being cursed at.)"
