Avatar fashion selection to double in a few months

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a pink speedsuit …

We just came across an Avatar ad on the New Xbox Experience’s Spotlight section (viewable above) that informs us that every two weeks new Avatar clothing will be available, which will double the current fashion selection over the next few months. And to keep everyone informed on the new goods, all new apparel will be marked with a yellow star when it’s released. We should also mention that we are not sure if the the upcoming fashion choices will be free or paid content (please be free) as we’ve heard Microsoft express their willingness to monetize Avatars in the future. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Sony blocks entire Netflix movie library from streaming to the Xbox 360

In an attempt to foil Microsoft’s plans of a flawless NXE Netflix launch, Columbia Pictures (a studio that’s owned by Sony) has made sure that its entire Netflix movie catalog is blocked from streaming to the Xbox 360. How rude!

The supercomputers behind World of Warcraft

“While I was at BlizzCon, I met someone who worked at Blizzard in their IT department, and the stories he told me (all off the record, unfortunately) about how gigantic and powerful their systems are were just mindboggling. I had to ask if he knew of anyone or any other industry shooting information around at the scale that Blizzard does, and with the one possible exception of Google (who also run digital information around at a staggering rate), we couldn’t think of anyone doing things at this scale. Not even financial networks and health care information (things, you’d think, that would be much more important than your level 73 Hunter and his gear) have these kinds of systems running.”

I am playing the Fable II Pub Games…but I have a little problem

Her: Wait. … What about the gold you lose?
Me: You mean the gold YOU lost?
Her: Yea. the gold we lost?
Me: No…you lost.
Her: Yea, the gold we lost.
Me (sigh): Yes, the gold you lost. That’s where we have the problem. I’ll now start Fable II in debt. As in poor. As in owing money.
Her (turning to look at me for the first time since I walked in): Wow. That sucks. (she put the controller down and walks out of the room)Her: I hope you can pay off that debt before the game comes out. I am going out, see you later.

Skies of Arcadia Sequel?

SkiesofarcadiaQuartermann: God of War 3, Gears of War 2 in 2008 news from 1UP.com

A little out of left field, however, is news of Sega reviving Skies of Arcadia. The sky pirate RPG was criminally overlooked, despite releases on both Dreamcast and GameCube, but apparently Sega been quietly preparing a sequel to the swashbuckling adventure.
