AppleCared: My Life Inside Apple and AppleCare

I feel your pain, Adam …

After Apple - AppleCared: My Life Inside Apple and AppleCare: "Any technical job that involves helping masses of uncensored human beings understand technology will eventually wear the average man down, causing him to go bat-**** crazy and scream at the top of his lungs while trying to take out a swath of them with a surprise barrage of old SCSI cards."

Fun with Stat Counter

For the past month or two, I've been using a free service from www.statcounter.com to check out how much traffic my blog's been getting. Though the realist in me thought my visitor counts would be rather pathetic, the optimist in me felt I could monopolize the blog-verse.

Interestingly, though, since only a few people know I even have a blog, I was surprised to see I got hits from 34-40 unique people per day. Wow, could word-of-mouth be making my blog famous? Well, not really. Stat Counter lets me see where the people were coming from (called "referrers"), and this shed some light on the mystery viewers.

I did find some interesting results from search engines. For example, someone used Google's new blog search to find everyone who blogged about "Cat Condos," and I was the #2 result! Also, someone found my site by doing an MSN search for gt 2005 burnouts. I must have scared this person away, though, with all of my GTO posts (makes sense - I scare away Mustang GT owners in real life).

Sigh. So I'm not the uber-blogger I think I am. Back to reality, I guess …
